GTA Online Players Have Slain Over Half a Billion Zombies in North Yankton

From GTA BOOM Wiki

Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode in GTA Online is drawing massive crowds, with players on track to hit the 800 million mark on Friday.

We don't think Rockstar Games could've predicted how much of a hit the new Grand Theft Auto Online update would turn out.

Mere days after releasing the Halloween update, Rockstar had to literally move its goal posts and offer more rewards just so players had more to look forward to after the new Ludendorff Cemetery Survival mode drew in more than 400,000 players.

Rockstar has now set the goal for the Apocalypse Zombie mode in GTA Online to 800 million zombies, which, given the circumstances, feels like a foregone conclusion by the end of the week.

What do you think Rockstar will do if GTA Online players slay a billion zombies?

As revealed on the counter page, GTA Online players have slain 200 million zombies every other day, hitting the 600 million mark on October 16. The way things are going at the moment, GTA Online players should hit 800 million on Friday, October 18, if not earlier.

At that point, it's unclear what Rockstar intends to do next, as it will likely coincide with the next weekly update. Maybe Rockstar will decide to up the ante to a billion or two?

With that said, given how successful the latest GTA Online update has been so far and how much bigger it can get, this begs the very obvious question, when is the North Yankton update coming to GTA Online?

The Orange Glow Skeleton Onesie and the Red Hooded Skull Mask await everyone in GTA Online as soon as the 800 million milestone is reached.

It's obvious players want a return trip to where everything started, and some are already breaking GTA Online just to get access to it outside of killing zombies. The developers have done an excellent job listening to its player base lately, so if there's enough noise, it might just listen and give in to what fans want.

If nothing else, an expansion centered on North Yankton would be a fitting finale for Grand Theft Auto Online when Grand Theft Auto 6 comes in late 2025.

For now, GTA Online players can partake in the fun and go ghost hunting if they want. The most recent GTA Online update guarantees that you are dressed for the spooky occasion, especially if you have an active GTA+ subscription.
