GTA 6 Leak Hints at Ambitious Single-Player DLC Plans
Rockstar is reportedly working on GTA 6 DLC alongside GTA Online expansions.
Grand Theft Auto 6 isn't coming out anytime soon. Rockstar Games might have confirmed that it's in development and Take-Two Interactive might have high hopes for it, but we don't think we'll be getting official info anytime soon.
The good news is that several insiders are constantly feeding us supposed info about the upcoming game. Case in point, the latest intel suggests that Rockstar is already planning well ahead of the game's launch.
According to the well-known GTA leaker, Tez2, Rockstar Games is already working on GTA 6 single-player DLC.
Here's an excerpt of what Tez2 said on GTAForums:
The first wave of "new cities and missions" we will receive as DLC will definitely be planned out before VI releases. And Rockstar will be able to allocate resources towards whatever new title they will work on after VI release. As for the new cities, I think for the most part we will receive instanced new cities or islands. Like Cayo Perico or North Yankon style. That way, Rockstar can introduce a new heist for the new GTA Online mode with each new DLC. If we are lucky, we could receive a fully fledged new city from time to time.
First things first, it looks like Rockstar isn't giving up on GTA Online anytime soon. The way that the leaker worded their statement implies that all the GTA 6 DLC will run in parallel with GTA Online expansions. The only problem we have this is that Rockstar might spread itself too thin to work on other projects outside of GTA 6 and GTA Online even after the game comes out. But, if this means that we're getting more DLC content for GTA 6, we guess the sacrifice is worth it.
Kidding aside, getting single-player DLC for GTA 6 would be a godsend. GTA 4 had two of the best DLCs in gaming in "The Ballad of Gay Tony" and "The Lost and Damned". It's just a shame that GTA 5 didn't get the same post-launch support.
As for what kind of content we can expect for GTA 6, we might have an idea already.
If you remember, a recent report suggested that Rockstar originally had much grander plans for GTA 6. If we assume that this is true, Rockstar could dig up the scrapped content ideas, flesh them out more, and repackage them as DLC content. Since the previous rumor claimed that GTA 6 could have had three different cities, Rockstar would already have two cities available as the foundation for future DLCs. It's definitely ambitious, but since Take-Two Interactive has such high hopes for GTA 6, Rockstar has every reason to shoot for the moon.
