Take-Two Believes that GTA 6 will set a "creative benchmark"
Is Grand Theft Auto 6 the most hyped game set to come out in the next few years? Probably. But, if you ask Rockstar Games' owners, Take-Two Interactive, GTA 6 isn't just an ambitious title — it will change the world. Or, to be more specific, "set creative benchmarks."
Take-Two Interactive CEO, Strauss Zelnick, recently shared key information about the company and its plans going forward and how it did in the past quarter in a recent earnings report. Naturally, part of the presentation included a word or two about GTA VI. Here's what Zelnick said about the upcoming GTA game in a recent statement:
With development of the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series well underway, the Rockstar Games team is determined to once again set creative benchmarks for the series, our industry, and for all entertainment, just as the label has done with every one of their frontliner releases.
TLDR; Take-Two expects GTA 6 to outdo GTA 5.
GTA V might just be one of the few games impervious to negative press. Despite attractive its fair share of controversy, GTA V still pulled in several awards over the years. It also holds a lifetime sales total of nearly 170 million copies.
Perhaps Take-Two wasn't talking about outselling Grand Theft Auto V, but it's most likely on the table. Either way, you can expect people to start talking after what Zelnick just said about GTA 6.
Speaking of, Take-Two's recent statement all but confirms Rockstar's hiring push. Hopefully, we'll get more corroborating statements from either Take-Two or Rockstar. For example, we are still curious to see if it's true that GTA VI will be more inclusive after a former Rockstar employee referred to that as being "absurd and cynical" in a scathing claim about the company, in general. Also, some fans believe that they've found the actress for GTA VI's rumored female lead.
