Analyst Predicts New IP from Rockstar This Year
Our favorite analyst, Michael Pachter, has made another prediction for Rockstar Games. This time he isn't discussing GTA V's current-gen success or yearly sales, but rather what other games Rockstar might announce.
There have been rumors of a new Red Dead Redemption game in the works, but Pachter doesn't believe this to be the case. By his analysis, Rockstar would have already announced a Red Dead sequel if it was coming this year. Without such an announcement, he believes "a sequel to Midnight Club comes before Red Dead Revolution, and it wouldn't shock me if a sequel to Manhunt came before Bully or Red Dead."
More than anything, though, he believed Rockstar is planning to announce a new IP. According to Pachter, Rockstar has been working on a new IP since 2009, and he expects it to be announced closer to E3 2015.
Back in December, Rockstar brought up the possibility of a Red Dead sequel, along with sequels to its other popular titles, and many fans are still hoping for that announcement to come. On the other hand, a new IP is intriguing and could definitely be in the works. Pachter's past analyses have left room for doubt, but what do you think about this one?
