Analyst Predicts 7 Million GTA V Shipments This Fiscal Year
According to the latest NPD data, after GTA V came out for the PS4 and Xbox One on November 18, it sold approximately 1.85 million units by the end of the month. Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter estimates this puts the month's worldwide sell-through figure at around 3.7 million units, quite an impressive feat.
Pachter didn't expect the remaster to sell that well, but now he's put forth a prediction of 7 million total shipments by the end of the fiscal year: 5.5 million this quarter and 1.5 million in the fiscal year's final quarter. Overall, however, his opinion of the game's potential hasn't changed. He believes the PS4 and Xbox One versions of GTA V will sell significantly less than the originals.
Have you picked up a remastered copy of GTA V? How do you think the release of the PC version in January will compare to these figures?
