Will Take-Two's August Earnings Call Reveal More GTA 6 Details?
Fans are hopeful for more GTA 6 news following Take-Two Interactive's earnings call announcement, but history suggests we might need to temper our expectations.
With roughly a year to go — if all goes well — before Grand Theft Auto 6's release, fans are rightfully excited to see Vice City in all of its modern glory. As the days march on, the fandom's hunger for new screenshots or footage of the virtual world we'll all call a second home come launch day is only getting more ravenous. Could an upcoming earnings call yield a morsel?
Probably not! Nonetheless, many believe the next GTA 6 trailer might drop around Take-Two Interactive's August earnings call. Rockstar has a pattern of alternating significant GTA 6 announcements in Take-Two's earnings calls. The first trailer announcement preceded the November 2023 call, while the "Fall 2025" release window was confirmed in the most recent call.
Following this trend, Rockstar will probably save the next big reveal for November, before a potential second trailer in December. Instead, the August Take-Two call might involve another Rockstar franchise: Red Dead Redemption.
A recent Rockstar Games Launcher update, coupled with a PC port "leak" on the Epic Games Store, suggests that Take-Two could use the GTA 6 anticipation to announce the long-awaited PC release of the 2010 title.
Red Dead Redemption 2, the prequel to RDR and third game in the Red Dead franchise, arrived on PC a while after its console release, but the classic and beloved predecessor has still eluded the platform — aside of the convoluted and poorly performing streamed PlayStation+ solution.
While updates on both GTA 6 and Red Dead Redemption would be ideal, it's best not to get too excited. Rockstar's drip-feeding strategy has proven effective, and with the first trailer continuing to amass views despite the lack of new information, they have even more reason to keep fans in suspense.
