Heists Included in First GTA Online Update After Launch

From GTA BOOM Wiki

Following yesterday's description of how Grand Theft Auto Online will run on the PS4 and Xbox One, Rockstar released some interesting statistics about GTA Online. To many players, however, more interesting than the game's stats is a new promise about the ever-elusive heists.

"We know you're all excited for more Updates to come and we've got some really exciting stuff in the works to continue adding to, expanding and evolving the world of Grand Theft Auto Online – including the highly anticipated launch of Online Heists which will be available for all four consoles as the first GTA Online Update to happen after the game launches on PS4 and Xbox One. We'll have some details on that very soon as well."

Yes, it is now confirmed that heists will be in the very first update GTA Online receives following the November 18 launch. Skepticism remains -- some users are concerned this is no more a guarantee than when heists were first promised for the spring update, while others point to the unclear release date, as Rockstar promises to give details on the update "very soon." Nevertheless, it looks like heists are on their way at last!

After that little reassurance, Rockstar went on to deliver GTA Online statistics from October 1, 2013 through October 31, 2014. In that time span, 33,384,423 people played GTA Online worldwide, across 224 countries. A handy infographic provides details on the number of jobs played and created, vehicles and weapons owned, the most popular items, and more.

Heists Included In First Gta Online Update After Launch

This really shows just how popular GTA Online is, and it's interesting to see how the data breaks down. Rockstar also added a comment to the post to explain where they get their country data from and provide a fun fact: there are 7 GTA Online players in the Vatican City, and one lone player in Antarctica.

On a separate note, the European PlayStation blog has provided an overview on how the PlayStation 4 Dualshock 4 controller will work with GTA V, as we briefly touched on before.

So, what do you think? Let us know if you believe heists are really coming soon or not, and if you're one of those 7 people in the Vatican City or Antarctica's sole player, give us a shout!
