GTA Plus Subscribers Strike Gold with Free Red Dead Redemption

From GTA BOOM Wiki

Rockstar is taking GTA+ to new frontiers with the addition of Red Dead Redemption, paving the way for more non-GTA titles.

GTA+ subscribers are getting their first taste of the Wild West with the introduction of Red Dead Redemptionand its Undead Nightmare expansion.

Red Dead Redemption, originally released in 2010 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, has sold more than 23 million copies since 2021, making it one of the best-selling video games of all time.

In total, the Red Dead Redemption series is second only to Grand Theft Auto in terms of copies sold. In total, it has sales surpassing 61 million copies.

The remaster of Red Dead Redemption last year gave GTA 4 fans hope that the game will receive a similar treatment soon.

For $5.99, beyond granting access to Red Dead Redemption, GTA+ enriches the Grand Theft Auto Online experience with monthly bonuses, exclusive content, and a selection of classic titles from Rockstar's extensive catalog.

Furthermore, subscribers can enjoy additional in-game perks like monthly deposits of GTA$, vehicle benefits, property-related benefits, and cosmetic items, making the service an attractive proposition for dedicated GTA Online players.

Unfortunately, Red Dead Redemption does have certain limitations. For starters, it isn't available to GTA+ members on PC. But, that's not all. Xbox players can't enjoy the 60fps toggle option introduced for PlayStation 5 users last year.

Nevertheless, adding Red Dead Redemption to GTA+ opens the door for more non-GTA games to be added to the video game subscription service. Last year, Rockstar added Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy — The Definitive Edition, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars.

Rockstar is currently deep into the development of Grand Theft Auto 6. The studio has already begun asking developers to come back and work in-office to try and speed up the game's development.

As Rockstar's pursuit for perfection consumes most of its resources, it's nice to know that they're looking for ways to beef up their other offerings with constant updates and new additions.

GTA 6 is currently scheduled for a 2025 release, with Sony preparing the PlayStation 5 Pro ahead of its release to capitalize on the expected influx of interest from mainstream audiences. However, a recent report suggest that a delay to 2026 is also on the table.
