Next up in line of "childhood memories violated by the Rockstar Editor" is Scooby Doo, Where Are You?
As we all know well by now, GTA V players have a tendency to make use of the extremely versatile Rockstar Editor to recreate the opening scene of famous TV shows, or iconic scenes from popular blockbusters with as much authenticity as possible (plus a healthy dose of additional violence). More often than not, the source material used for these Rockstar Editor videos is usually something that is extremely far from the moral values (or lack thereof) of GTA V, for the purpose of comedic effect. Children's cartoons have been GTA-ified before, and this time we have the crew of the mystery machine unmask monsters in Los Santos!
As is usual with these GTA videos, this creation is a scene-for-scene adaptation of the opening sequence of the 1969 Scooby Doo cartoon. The role of the titular dog goes to Chop, who has gone through a bit of a face-lift to make him look more like his hand-drawn counterpart, and less like the canine star of GTA V that we know and love. The video features Michael and his crazy new hairdo as Fred, Franklin and Trevor as various monsters, and the rest of the gang is played by random characters from GTA V.
The video is frighteningly similar to the original opening sequence. Naturally, the addition of some good old over-the-top GTA violence is present here too. Check out a side-by-side comparison below!
The genius behind this creation, btz, clearly rivals the glory of Merfish, who is responsible for most of the great Rockstar Editor creations. However, that extremely subtle joke with the bats has elevated btz to heights so high, that we mere mortals down on the ground below cannot determine which is higher up. Do not fret however, as Chop Scooby is here to solve that particular mystery!
Did you guys watch Scooby Doo back in the day?
