It looks like Rockstar Games is thinking of adding fast travel to GTA Online

From GTA BOOM Wiki

You might think that Rockstar Games has added everything it can to GTA Online, but that's where you're wrong. The now-standalone online expansion to GTA 5 has several features, but it doesn't have one thing that fans have wanted for a very long time: fast travel.

However, after years of players asking for it, it appears that Rockstar is finally listening.

According to Tez2, Rockstar sent out a survey asking about GTA+ and the features that members use the least and the most. In the same survey, Rockstar brought up two features that it's thinking of adding to the game: fast travel and access to "classic Rockstar titles".

If Rockstar pushes through with this plan, we're curious to find out how the majority of GTA Online players will respond. At the moment, GTA+ only has a handful of rewards.

Technically, there are ways to travel fast in GTA Online.

For example, players can call a cab and go to a particular place on the map. Presently though, there's no way for players to transport to anywhere in Los Santos instantly. So, if implemented, GTA+ subscribers will have a significant advantage over non-members.

Tez2 adds that the GTA+ survey reveals that fast travel in GTA Online will let players "fast travel around Los Santos and Blaine County free of cost." If nothing else, we could see this as Rockstar's way of trying out the fast-travel feature in GTA Online before implementing it in GTA 6. It's believed that the map of GTA 6 will be significantly larger compared to GTA 5 and GTA Online.

Unfortunately, the survey doesn't clarify how Rockstar will implement this system. Still, GTA Online players are salivating at the idea of enjoying a properly-implemented fast-travel mechanic in the game.

Hopefully, we'll find out soon enough what Rockstar has planned for public transportation in Los Santos.

It'll be interesting to see what else Rockstar Games will add to GTA+ to increase the subscriber count.

Speaking of GTA, we just found out that Rockstar once turned down the opportunity to turn the game into a live-action movie starring Eminem. Finally, the Take-Two Interactive CEO, Strauss Zelnick, is confident that the recent leak will not affect the development of GTA 6.
