Official Word on GTA 5 PC Launch Delay
Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PC is delayed. Yes, it's official and was confirmed by Rockstar Games themselves just yesterday. What's the reason though? Well, they've made us wait a little longer for that, apparently is just a matter of the PC version of GTA V requiring a little more development time to make it as polished as possible.
Rockstar has sent out this official explanation via the Rockstar Newswire here.
We’re glad to see so many of you are excited for the upcoming release of the new versions of GTAV and we look forward to sharing more details with you soon. We are also incredibly excited to be bringing GTAV to the PC, but the game requires a little more development time in order to ensure that it is as amazing and polished as possible. Please do stay tuned as we reveal new features and information about all the new versions in the weeks ahead.
We think it makes sense for a couple of reasons: (1) PCs are more powerful than even the Xbox One and Playstation 4, so Rockstar might need more time to really get the most out of it in terms of graphics and artwork; and (2) they might also need more time in order to really lock down GTA Online against PC hackers and crackers...
Anyway we expect much more news on all the new platform releases in coming weeks. It's going to be a very exciting end to the year for gamers, and a great start to 2015 as well!
