Take on Wildlife Photography with the January 4 GTA Online update

From GTA BOOM Wiki

Despite being all-in on Grand Theft Auto 6 at this point, Rockstar Games continues to drop regular updates for Grand Theft Auto Online.

To kick off 2024, Rockstar Games has brought an exciting update to Grand Theft Auto Online, enhancing the gameplay experience with new features, vehicles, and challenges.

One of the key highlights of the January 4 update is the introduction of the Declasse Park Ranger, a new vehicle available from the Warstock Cache and Carry store. Priced at $2,980,000 or $2,235,000 with a trade price discount, the Park Ranger is only available to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X consoles.

To access the purchase option for this vehicle, players must join in the new "Shoot Animals photography" Challenge, which involves taking photos of animals all over the San Andreas area using the in-game phone. Each successful photo grants GTA$20,000 and 500 RP, and taking 10 photos will unlock the trade price for the Park Ranger. Capturing every animal in the Wildlife Photography Challenge awards players with the Park Ranger for free, and will also unlock the Kraken Sub.

It's unclear if GTA Online's updates will still come every week or if they'll be more sporadic or lighter in content this 2024.

Despite these exciting additions, some players have noticed potential undocumented changes or bugs following the update. These include alterations to the up-and-atomizer's ability to launch characters, changes to the Kosatka's rudder control, and adjustments to thermal vision usage on the Avenger's turrets. Further, a brief loss of control over the characters during certain actions in the Cayo Perico finale has been reported, which might be an attempt to address exploits.

This update reaffirms Rockstar Games' commitment to keeping GTA Online fresh and engaging for its vast player base.

Whether you're a seasoned player or new to the game, the January 4 update offers a variety of new content and improvements to enhance your gaming experience in the ever-evolving world of GTA Online.

Rockstar Games is currently working on GTA 6, which is expected to release on PS5 and Xbox Series S/X in 2025. A PC version isn't expected until sometime later.
