This Saturday is the first day of summer, so by this point we kind of suspected that the new GTA Online heists weren't going to be released this spring like they were planned to. Ever since they were first announced, fans have asked after each update when the heists would be coming, and now we have official confirmation that they've been delayed.
In an update to the announcement about the new DLC we discussed yesterday, Rockstar said:
"We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated. We are very sorry for the delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can."
It's too bad they didn't give us a release window or an indication of how long the delay will be, but at least we know. Some fans think Rockstar deliberately delayed the heists to release them alongside the Xbox One, PS4, and PC ports of GTA V, while others think all the glitches and issues suffered by GTA Online disrupted the plan. Whatever the case may be, we'll keep you updated.
