Halloween GTA Online Update Brings Día de Muertos, Festive Masks & Tees to Los Santos
From Halloween to Día de Muertos, GTA Online is offering a festive update packed with new items, challenges, and discounts.
As evenings start to grow longer in Los Santos, the city streets have erupted into supernatural chaos as Rockstar Games brings more haunted vehicles to prowl the roads while otherworldly creatures continue to lurk in the shadows with the latest Grand Theft Auto Online updates — and now this week's bonuses put even more emphasis on the spooky content as Halloween proper draws nearer.
From aliens to ghosts and zombies, thrill-seekers have no shortage of things to do in Los Santos. The most recent GTA Online update continues the freaky theme, making it the perfect time to dive headfirst into the madness and reap some ghostly rewards.
First things first, players venturing out after dark may find themselves face-to-face with possessed cars and trucks with a mind of their own. These spectral vehicles careen through intersections and down alleyways, challenging even the most skilled drivers to keep up or get out of the way. Meanwhile, reports are flooding in of bizarre creatures stalking the city, including traditional monsters and outlandish beasts.
First things first, congratulations are in order. The GTA Online community has united to absolutely obliterate the North Yankton Nightmare Community Challenge. Rockstar tasked players to put down wave after wave of the undead, and they rose (ha) to the occasion. When the dust settled and the final zombie fell, over 800 million of the shambling corpses had been sent back to their graves.
As a show of appreciation, all players can now claim the Purple Glow and Green Glow Skeleton Onesies, joining the previously unlocked Orange Glow Skeleton Onesie and Red Hooded Skull Mask. To get your hands on these ghoulish getups, simply log in anytime this week.
For those who prefer to be the mastermind behind the monster mash, Rockstar has added some devilish new tools to the GTA Online Survival Creator. Players can now populate their custom scenarios with hordes of zombies, allowing for endless undead possibilities. You now have the power to recreate your favorite zombie flick or come up with an entirely new nightmare scenario.
Rockstar encourages players to let their twisted imaginations run wild and share their creations with the world. You can use the tag #CommunitySeries for a chance to be featured in a future official playlist — who knows, your zombie apocalypse could be the next big hit in Los Santos!
A series of Halloween-themed Deathmatches have also popped up across the city. These pit players against each other in spine-chilling scenarios, from battling through a spreading infection to navigating a deadly maze filled with masked killers.
For those brave enough to face these terrifying trials, they're dishing out Double GTA$ and RP, giving you the perfect excuse to indulge in some frightful fun. Emerge victorious from two Deathmatches and you'll complete the Weekly Challenge, netting you the grotesque Tan Demon Goat Mask along with a cool GTA$100,000 bonus.
The bonuses don't stop there. Freemode Events and Challenges are also paying out double, so keep an eye out for opportunities to score big while keeping your session varied with all the different kinds of modes and objectives these activities offer.
As Halloween fades, Los Santos gears up for Día de Muertos with a colorful array of themed items. Players can get into the spirit with four new Calaca Masks — the Romance, Floral, Maritime, and Royal varieties, intricately designed skull masks that capture the vibrant essence of the holiday.
To complete the look, grab the exclusive Día de Muertos Tee, perfect for strutting your stuff at a cemetery celebration or just cruising the streets in style. All of these festive items are free just for logging in and playing GTA Online between now and November 6.
If all this talk of the supernatural has you itching for a new set of wheels, you're in luck. The Premium Deluxe Motorsport showroom is featuring a diverse lineup of vehicles this week. From the sleek Enus Cognoscenti Cabrio to the rugged Dundreary Landstalker XL, there's something for every taste and terrain.
For those with more expensive tastes, swing by the Luxury Autos showroom to check out the Benefactor Vorschlaghammer sedan and the sporty Fathom FR36 coupe. Don't forget to take advantage of the 30% discount on the LCC Sanctus motorcycle — the perfect ride for terrorizing the streets this Hallowee.
