GTA V Meets Sesame Street, Produces Nightmares
What's this? Another child-oriented television program recreated in a terrifying, violent and nightmare inducing manner using the Rockstar Editor and GTA V mods? All this, and not made by Merfish?
Well, while the sky may not be falling, this certainly is an unusual occurrence of late, as the number of GTA V fan videos which make a stir among the press has surprisingly decreased since the Editor was made available on current-gen consoles. Why this happened, we have no clue, however any notable Rockstar Editor GTA V fan video is a welcome surprise.
This particular video follows the tradition of Editor videos which seek to recreate, scene by scene, the opening sequence of a popular and fondly remembered television series primarily aimed at younger viewers — with the added twist of some good old GTA violence of course. This time on the chopping block is Sesame Street, a show which followed a group of (extremely creepy, looking back) puppets who lived along with regular humans in the titular Sesame Street. Among these puppets was an abnormally large, anatomically inaccurate yellow bird, who is featured prominently in the opening sequence. Sans such a creature existing in GTA V, Trevor, modded with flippers and a noodle bucket on his face, is a stand-in.
Mini-guns in place of blankets, handguns in place of skipping-ropes, and fire-breath in place of bubbles. Welcome to Los Santos' Sesame Street. The use of adult in-game characters, such as Lester and Lamar in place of the children from the original certainly add to the creep factor of the video. Ending the video by blowing everyone up unfortunately won't purge the memories from your mind. This is right up there with the GTA V Pokemon recreation in terms of freakishness.
What fond childhood memory would you want to see keep safe from being remade in GTA V?
