L.A. Noire is the Latest Free Game for GTA+ Subscribers

Step into the shoes of Cole Phelps and unravel the corruption in 1940s Los Angeles.

Rockstar Games is upping the ante for GTA+ subscribers by making the critically acclaimed detective thriller L.A. Noire available as a free game starting today.

For those unfamiliar with this crime classic, L.A. Noire immerses players in a postwar Los Angeles teeming with corruption, drug empires, and shocking murders.

As a player, you'll step into the shoes of Cole Phelps, an up-and-coming LAPD detective tasked with unraveling a string of insidious crimes that could bring the city to its knees. Using, what were at the time, groundbreaking facial animation technology that capture even the subtlest microexpressions, the game blends cinematic storytelling with intense action sequences and intricate detective work.

Players will need to employ all their investigative skills to unravel the truth behind a string of arson attacks, racketeering conspiracies, and brutal slayings, even as the investigation leads them to question the integrity of their own police force.

However, L.A. Noire isn't the only treat Rockstar has in store for GTA+ subscribers this month. To pay homage to L.A. Noire's vintage 1940s setting, Rockstar is gifting GTA+ members with a pair of classic whips from the era. Starting today, you can claim the luxurious Classique Broadway muscle car and the sleek Albany Roosevelt sports classic absolutely free from Legendary Motorsport in GTA Online.

L.A. Noire shipped four million units in its first month of release.

With other critically acclaimed titles like the GTA Trilogy and Red Dead Redemption already part of GTA+, Rockstar appears serious about adding value to its premium subscription service.

After recently hiking prices to $7.99 per month, fans will be eager to see what new titles Rockstar will add to GTA+ besides Bully, which is expected to be added sometime this year.

For longtime L.A. Noire fans, this is a golden opportunity to revisit the mean streets of a gloriously realized 1940s Los Angeles. Newcomers, on the other hand, can experience one of the most unique and captivating crime dramas in gaming history without spending a dime.

As for GTA 6 and news on a second trailer, Rockstar is holding its cards close to its chest. That being said, fans are still hopeful of new information being released before Take-Two's next earnings call, which is scheduled to take place on May 16.
