Grand Theft Auto Trilogy launches on the Epic Games Store at half price
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy is finally available to buy and download from the Epic Games Store. The best part is that the collection is available at a heavily discounted price.
The trilogy bundle is currently listed at 50% off until February 23. Sadly, if you judge by its state on Steam, which has received numerous rounds of fixes from Grove Street Games, it seems unlikely that this version will play any better.
If it's any consolation, the Epic Store version costs half the original price and you still get three of the best games from the PS2 era of gaming. The worst-case scenario is that the game will crash on you every now and then, yet it won't be often enough to detract from the gameplay experience.
The Grand Theft Auto Trilogy remasters were initially released two years ago but were exclusive to the Rockstar Games digital storefront until recently.
It's believed Rockstar initially had different plans before the launch of the GTA Trilogy. But, the ensuing player backlash reportedly forced Rockstar to pivot and drop unannounced projects ,such as a remaster of GTA 4 and Red Dead Redemption. Unfortunately, we'll never know if Rockstar really intended to work on the said remasters or if it's all just baseless rumors.
For now, Rockstar is all-in on the development of GTA 6, so we likely won't hear about any game that the studio is working on until it's out.
