BY YOUR POWERS COMBINED I AM CAPTAIN PLANET
Ahem, as I was saying. GTA V, through this wonderful Rockstar Editor creation meets Captain Planet.
Merfish has veered his glamorous aquatic head once more to add yet another cartoon to the ever growing list of fond childhood memories he has violated in the most heinous ways imaginable. Wielding the powers of creativity, some camera and theatrical skills, and a flare for the humorous, by their powers combined, Merfish has brought us this absolute abomination of a video. Enjoy?
Captain Planet and the Planeteers was an educational cartoon that initially ran from 1990 to 1992 and then under the name of The New Adventures of Captain Planet from 1993 to 1996. The cartoon advocated environmentalism and sought to educate children to live in a way that did not damage nature further. The only educational cartoon cool enough to make the cut for the Saturday morning slots back when it aired, Captain Planet built a superhero mythos around preserving the environment, and achieved something never before seen in educational television: it was good.
The series saw five teenagers from five continents (because political correctness was also a must in educational television) receive power rings nature rings which control one element each (of which "heart" is one. What?). The heroes could then protect nature from harmful human activities and disasters.
If they ever encounter a crisis they cannot solve, they unite their rings and BY YOUR POWERS COMBINED I AM CAPTAIN PLANET *ahem* — they summon Captain Planet, an a-racial super hero who protects nature. Now, since Captain Planet is the name of the series, and these are just teenagers, it should come as no surprise that they encounter an insurmountable challenge every episode.
Now, obviously the pro-nature sentiments of this education children's cartoons fits perfectly with Grand Theft Auto. And, you know, Grand Theft Auto.
Yeah. Merfish. Who was a watch Captain Planet fan back in the day!?
