Rockstar Confirms Import/Export Release For Tuesday

From GTA BOOM Wiki

It really does pay to follow the Twitter accounts of game development companies. Sometimes it isn't a large press release, or an article, or a Facebook post that gives away a bit of information, but a tweet. Rockstar confirmed the release date of GTA Online's next DLC in under 140 characters not too long ago.

Further promoting their current set of bonuses in GTA Online, — in order to get people to spend as much in-game cash as possible prior to the DLC release *wink wink* — Rockstar posted the following:

The caption says it all, really. We've already theorized that Tuesday, 13th of December will be the release date of Import/Export, based on several hints. The first and most basic tell is that Rockstar pretty much always releases GTA Online DLC on a Tuesday.

Another hint for this date stems from the fact that it's December, meaning 'tis the season to be merry.  Rockstar has celebrated the festivities in GTA Online with DLC before, and will likely do so again this year. Chances are the Festive Surprise 2016 will drop in the latter half of the month, not giving Import/Export too big a window.

One of the most revealing hints dropped when Rockstar announced their latest round of bonuses and discounts for GTA Online. Under normal circumstances, these bonus events last a week, however, this one — which was centered around items needed by CEOs — was cut short, ending on Monday. This meant that probably it was cut off abruptly to make way for the new event that always accompanies a DLC release.

The last little hint came yesterday when players were unable to access GTA Online for a while. Server downtime doesn't always foreshadow a DLC release, nor do all DLC releases have downtime precede them. However, in the case of major updates that affect existing systems, it might be required to set things up via server maintenance.

Import/Export is building on the features of Further Adventures in Finance and Felony, with many features linking the two updates. The car stealing missions of Import/Export are accessed through SecuroServe, and you'll likely need to be a CEO to have the authorization to initiate these missions. As such, the newest update might require some maintenance before launch.

Are you guys hyped for GTA Online's newest DLC?
