Nvidia says GTA V Coming to PC this Fall
Update: Nvidia has retracted it comments. Please read this news piece.
Nvidia recently held an earnings call to discuss its most recent financial results and in it Chris Evenden, Senior Director of Investor Relations, says that Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to the PC this fall.
Taking about strong PC games that will be released this fall, Evenden said:
The PC market is evolving. As entry level laptops face pressure from tablets. Yet sales of specialty PCs like gaming systems and work stations continue to grow. The disparity reflects how consumers use these different classes of PCs. Many consumers look for PC as a general purpose device they can use for browsing, email, social media video. But much of this can be better served by a tablet. In contrast, gamers are preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin's Creed IV.
It would be hard to believe that the three games mentioned, CoD: Ghosts, Assassin's Creed IV and GTA V are simply random. Nvidia is working directly with Ubisoft to optimize AC4 graphics and it has had prior relationships with Activision for previous Call of Duty games. What link does Nvidia have to GTA 5 then?
We recently predicted that GTA 5 for PC might eventually arrive on April 17 next year, judging from past delays between console and PC versions. There was also that mysterious job posting on the Rockstar website that was swiftly taken down once it went mainstream.
Do you think Nvidia knows what it's talking about? We all know that GTA 5 will eventually come to PC, but could it really arrive this fall?
