Hope You Didn't Believe The Most Recent Story DLC Rumor
With the summer drawing to a close, the rumor mills are churning at 110 percent. And with the next GTA Online update bringing the Rockstar Editor to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One, as well as the mysterious Lowlife DLC, players are eager to hear some news or confirmation about the rumored Story DLC GTA V should also be getting sometime in the near future.
Recently it seemed as if the players would get their wish. With the theater release of the critically acclaimed biopic, "Straight Outta Compton", which introduced viewers to the rise and fall of the popular hip-hop group N.W.A, came a fan-creation which remade the music video of the titular clip with the Rockstar Editor.
However, this wasn't the only overlap between GTA V and Straight Outta Compton. The voice actors of GTA V's three protagonists participated in some sort of cross-promotion, wherein they all posted images with their GTA V character and a caption "Straight Outta Grove Street/Yankton" for Franklin and Michael respectively. This kicked off a massive speculative chain reaction which culminated in reports and a new Wikipedia page all speaking of the upcoming "Grove Street Stories" DLC for GTA V which would add single player content.
All of this seemed pretty and real, but it turned out to be nothing more than wishful thinking. The Wikipedia page had a nice, official looking description, but it had a glaring issue — it referenced past events in the story which did not happen.
A new updated version to Grand Theft Auto V will include a single player expansion pack called Grove Street Stories (not yet confirmed), set before all three characters met in North Yankton.
The other tell was that despite all of this info circulating the web, Rockstar's lips remained sealed. Even if they were just trying to keep things a secret, this big a leak would have prompted some sort of response.
