Grand Theft Auto 5 Added To Xbox Game Pass

From GTA BOOM Wiki

Just when you thought Grand Theft Auto 5 couldn't be "released" any more times, it's just been launched once again on the Xbox Game Pass. You can now enjoy the misadventures of Michael, Trevor and Franklin on Xbox One and PC for a low monthly fee ($10 in the US), alongside a bunch of other games.

Xbox Game Pass joins a growing list of on-demand gaming subscription services, where instead of buying individual games you gain access to a huge library of titles you can play whenever you want, as long as you have an active subscription.

The Game Pass library already featured countless high-profile AAA heavy hitters such as all Xbox One exclusives and other games like The Witcher 3 and more. Most fans didn't expect GTA 5 to ever hit Game Pass, since the title is still a top seller somehow, and being available through such an affordable service would likely impact sales. Nonetheless, Rockstar probably worked out a profitable deal with Microsoft.

The official Xbox Game Pass Twitter account broke the news with a clip of Michael sitting down in front of his home theatre system, which projected an image of... Michael sitting in front of his home theatre system, looking at GTA 5 key art with "Available Today" laid over it.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers can play GTA 5 as of now, with full access to all of the game's features including GTA Online on both Xbox One and PC. Even though the game is over six years old, it still draws some of the biggest crowds in the industry, and we're betting Game Pass gained a lot of new subscribers today!

While this blockbuster is a welcome yet unexpected addition, we won't be holding our breath for any Red Dead games appearing on Game Pass. Rockstar has a deal with Sony regarding that particular franchise — but clearly the developers have no qualms about playing both sides.
