GTA V PC Petition Now Has 650,000 Signatures
Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V, which is currently available only for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, has been hugely successful. It has already shipped over 29 million copies, and it earned over $1 million for Rockstar/Take-Two in the first three days after its release. And a large number of fans want a PC version of the game made as well.
Rumors of such a PC release have circulated since long before the game was even out, but no solid evidence has turned up. Although people keep hinting that the PC version is on its way, Rockstar has said nothing other than that they would take it under consideration.
Fans, therefore, created a petition at Change.org to show Rockstar just how much they want GTA V on PC. In the petition, they mention that a PC version would allow players to create mods for the game, which is an activity many fans have a lot of fun with. By October 2013, the 600,000 people had signed the petition, and 50,000 more signatures appeared on the list in the following months. With 650,000 fans clamoring for the game via the petition alone, and millions more wanting it worldwide, perhaps Rockstar will sit up and take notice...
Other fans are interested in ports for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, which would be another good move for Rockstar given the popularity of the next-gen consoles. Whether any of these things will come to fruition, however, has yet to be seen.
Beyond the many mods that a PC release would bring to Grand Theft Auto 5 is the extent of cheat codes... Given the PC is a much more open, essentially hack-able system, long-awaited cheats such as "give cash" could finally become a reality for GTA V.
