GTA VI Rumor Mill Returns
We all love baseless rumors, right? Well, the internet is constantly generating new and even newer rumors to keep people occupied, however every now and then these baseless assumptions turn out to be true.
So what is the newest piece of info regarding the unannounced sequel to GTA V that has ~5% chance of being true? Playable protagonists will include actor Ryan Gosling (well, a character played by Ryan Gosling, not actual Ryan Gosling in-universe), and a playable female protagonist.
That's right folks, the game franchise that arguably has feminist's panties in a twist most of the time will feature a playable female protagonist! Considering the kind of gameplay and narrative characteristic of GTA V, it can be assumed that this will be a strong, independent character who don't need no damn men, but before you get delusional, expect the feminists to throw a fit about this as well, because of course they will.
Then again, this won't be the first time players got to control members of the fairer sex in GTA. Players in GTA Online can create their own avatars, and they have the option to create female characters. The difference here is that the alleged playable female protagonist of GTA VI will be a written, voiced story character, not just a customizable player character in the multiplayer portion of the game. As Ryan Gosling will be the actor for a male playable protagonist, rumors name Eva Mendes as the actress who will play the alleged female protagonist.
Nothing is truly known about GTA VI except that it will be happening, and while that info does come from an official source, it is hardly an announcement. Leslie Benzies, the head of Rockstar Games, has stated that the studio has a host of ideas they want to make into a reality, and that we will be getting official word on GTA VI before the end of the year.
Of course at some point we would like to have one big world containing all our cities and let the player fly between them and revisit their favorite areas. In that context re-imagining Vice City would be very interesting.
Do you guys lend any credibility to these rumors?
