GTA Online & PSN Maintenance Coincides — Coincidence?

From GTA BOOM Wiki

GTA Online's servers will be down for maintenance in coming days and in a strange coincidence, Rockstar's schedule is similar to Sony's in the sense that the PlayStation Network will be down for maintenance at the same time. The two maintenance shut-downs are happening independently of one another though, and the fact they overlap appears to be the work of chance.

The maintenance schedule for GTA Online has been publicized via twitter post, and it states that the down time will begin at 11:00 PM ET/4:00 AM BST on the 17th of August. The maintenance will last 7 hours, which is pretty long, and will reach over to the 18th in some regions. Naturally, this means that you won't be able to play GTA Online while the servers are down. This is routine maintenance, and is a process that is necessary for the smooth function of any online service. These maintenance sessions usually apply a boatload of tiny bug fixes, behind the scenes updates and basically let a developer ascertain whether or not the system is working properly (maybe they're gonna patch this hack too?) I know 7 whole hours without GTA V will be tough on many of you, but in the meantime, you can always just play GTA: San Andreas.

The Playstation Network will have a significantly shorter maintenance period, with only one and a half hours of down time. The PSN maintenance will start at midnight PST on the 18th, while Playstation Network users from the UK will be experiencing down time from 8:00 AM. GTA V players whose preferred platform is the Playstation 3 or 4 are pretty lucky, as this way they'll have both maintenances down with a single wait, as opposed to them being spread out. With the numerous online services in gaming, or in general, which are linked in some way or another in the name of convenience, we sometimes lose sight of how inconvenient all of this can be at times.

What will you guys be doing in those seven painful hours without GTA V?
